341

The next section of this blog is 1940-1945 (sorta). This was a critical period in my family's life. I was born in 1940. My sister, Lynne, was born in 1943. My father was teaching school in Weippe and Grangeville, ID. He taught music. While living in Grangeville -- very much a farming community -- my father was conscripted (drafted) into the U.S. Army to serve in World War II. He was 33 years old at the time -- an old age for a conscript -- but all of the farm boys were considered to be exempt from the draft because they were essential to the war effort as farmers. So, my mother, sister and I moved into Aunt Rita's home in Pocatello while Dad went off to war. So, on to the photos.
