My mother wrote on the back of this picture: "Mullan High School. Rita, Adrienne, Florence all graduated from here -- Rita in 1928 (she finished in three years), Adrienne in 1931, & Florence in 1935 -- and Barry in 1958. One small corner of the elementary school shows in the background. Ken was school superintendent here for four years, then we came to BYU."

A reminder of one of my greater ego trips. I ran for President of the freshman class at BYU in 1958. This was my campaign picture. I came in 5th out of 13 candidates. End of political career!!!

Johnny Prescott's Shell station on the old highway in Mullan. Dad bought all his gas from Johnny. And, he traded a shotgun to Johnny for repairs to the front of the 1950 Mercury that I had allowed to roll down the hill behind our house and crash into the garbage truck. Robert was in the car at the time. I was draining the radiator -- something that nobody does today.
