453

My cute little sister Lynne, late 1942 or early 1943.

452

About 1943. Somewhere in Europe. Don't know the man standing with my father.

451

My father and myself. I believe this was taken in Victor, ID, about 1943, just before Dad left for the war. It was very common for the children of soldiers to wear military costumes on a regular basis.

450

My uncle Eugene Lauritzen with his three sons, Terrill (Terry), Jack, and Philip. March 1943.

449

My Dad, sister Lynne, and myself. About 1945 after Dad had returned from the war. Not sure of the location.

448

Another family outing up the canyon near Victor, ID. My parents are at the far right. About 1945. I believe this was very close to the time when our family moved to Fairbanks, Alaska.

447

My father, somewhere in Europe. About 1944.

446

Barry & Lynne, about 1945. I'm not sure of the location.

445

"Bill [Miller], Barry, Stephen [Anderson]. Barry never failed the photographer. He could always pull a face. Aug 1942. Wallace, Idaho."

444

About 1942 in Grangeville, ID.

443

About 1941 in Weippe, ID.

442

I don't know the dog's name, but this is taken in Grangeville, ID. I remember the sofa.

441

The picture on the wall will be familiar to my siblings. And, that little yellow teddy bear got a lot of use by a lot of children over the years.

440

I don't think I was being punished. However, that small rocking chair exists in my basement still. Lots of children have used and enjoyed it. Thanks, Mom and Dad.

439

David and Stephen Anderson, Dec. 1940, in front of the Anderson home, 500 S. 11th, in Pocatello.

438

Adrienne wrote on the back of this photo, "David [Anderson] and Bill [Miller] -- their first day of school. Sept. 2, 1941."

437

I think this is Weippe, again.

436

About 1942. If you look closely, my parents glued a picture of my head over the top of the original. Don't know when or why. This looks like Victor, ID.

435

One of our first family photos. Taken about 1945, right after Dad got home from the war.

434

Like I said. Lots of photos of the first child. About 1942.

433

Now, this is a gem. While my father was in Europe during WWII, my Aunts, Rita & Adrienne, and my mother enrolled my cousins David, Steven, Bill and myself in tap-dancing class. Yep! Tap-dancing. This picture is after the recital that we were required to perform in the theater in east Pocatello. The major trauma for me related to this picture is that my mother and aunts insisted that we four have lipstick applied. Those of you who have been involved in stage performance understand the need for color-enhancing makeup. But, I was absolutely appalled that this would be necessary. I locked myself in the bathroom (age 4) and it took a long time for my mother to prevail. I finally relented, but after this recital my tap-dancing career came to an end. David is in the military cap, 5th from the right on the back row. I can't identify the rest of us with any confidence.
