This is a combination of the caption written in my father's notebook and what is written on the back of the photo. "Lorin [Kearsley], Phyllis [Hatch], Ken [Lauritzen], Amy [Kearsley], Emily Christensen, Ella Woolstenhulme, and Edna Sheets. We were up Teton canyon to the Teton Stake outing, Spring 1932. The creek was too high to cross to the other side. An ideal summer day and plenty of comjpany. A man's dream of paradise."

164

"Nat, Lottie and I are out to Lagoon taking in the sights. Fall 1932."

163

"Florence and David [Anderson] at Pocatello - Spring of 1939."

162

"Ralph Thompson and I piled brush for the U.S.F.S (United States Forest Service) up Mail Cabin canyon. Occasionally we had visitors. Later George McMurdy was sent to help us. July 1940."

161

"It isn't the warmest day in the year but we can still go swimming. It is the winter of 1931-32 out on Warm Creek. Lenard is on the horses backs acrobating (as usual); Wanda Daines and Elva Henry are on the horses; Zina Kunz is on the slieigh tongue; Carlos, Dorothy and I are standing on more solid footing. It is just a nice warm Sunday afternoon."

160

"Loggers. We just finished a game of solo. Loy Keatly, myself, Frank Miksel and Carlos. We are laughing at Ray Bullard's clumsy efforts to light the flash. We are up Moose Creek canyon logging in the winter of 1932-33. The snow isn't very deep at this time."

159

"Lee's lake is in front of us. At this time of year, August 1935, I was engaged at Joe Ruby's bar in Jackson, Wyo. Florence and her mother picked me up rather early one day in Victor and brought me over. That was when I first knew Florence. Now (Aug 1937) I know her better."

158

There is no caption associated with this picture, but the names written on the back of the picture make it certain that this is taken in front of Mullan High School in Idaho. The names are (L to R): Miss Potter, Edith Wahlberg, Edna McMurray, Rosalie Orazen, Jenny Orazen, Gail Crabaugh, Betty Birlew, Victoria Rogers, and Florence Lauritzen. It appears to be a women's basketball team?

I don't have any data to prove a date, but for some reason I believe this to be a picture taken while my mother was in High School in Mullan, ID. She was active in dramatics there, and I think that this is from one of the plays in which she took a part.

156

I don't know when this picture was taken, but I'm guessing around 1934. It displays the attractiveness of my mother. No wonder my father fell in love.

155

Here begins Group 3. See text in the right margin.

154

There is a caption with this one in the caption book, and written comments on the back of the picture.
"While tracting in Ronne we met this man who had been in America and could speak English. He ran a little store and would often treat us. The others are his wife, son , and hired girl. August 1931"
"Herr Andersen and family -- including the hired girl and a couple of homely looking missionaries. Ronne, Bornholm. August 1931. Taken just a day or two before I left for home."

153

I'm not sure where this picture fits in, but it is a nice one. It is a picture of my father's brother just older than himself, Carlos.

152

"A ruined castle along the Rhine."

151

"Looking out over Heidelberg."

150

There was not caption with this one, either. But, it is very artistic. Nice picture.

149

Yet another photo with no matching caption.

148

"Out north of Fredericia on a tracting tour. Lynn is my companion. It is along Vijle fjord. Fall 1929."

147

You begin to see a part of the quandry that the old albums provided. There is no caption associated with this one, so we have no idea who these people may be. Only that it is clearly a missionary experience picture.

146

This is a picture of an experience that I'm not sorry was never mine. Milking a goat is not my idea of fun. There was no caption with this one.

145

"Donald, Elva and Dean with myself in the background. It should have been a good picture. Taken in the long ago."

144

And there was no caption associated with this one. But it is reminiscent of "The Little Mermaid" in the Copenhagen port.

143

Even missionaries have to eat. Yet another picture with no associated caption.

142

"Blain Larsen and I had to guard the bags in Munich while the rest went and got something to eat. June 1930."

141

Another one where there was no caption in the book that matched the photo.
